Event Modes

EventBuilder offers a variety of delivery modes for your events. The mode you select will depend on what is available at your subscription level, what type of Event you are creating, and what you would like your Attendee's experience to be.

EventBuilder offers six modes:

  • Live Webinar
  • Simulated Live Webinar
  • In-Person Event
  • In-Person/Online Hybrid
  • On Demand
  • Custom

Live Webinar

Available for all subscription levels

Set as the default mode when creating a new Event or customizing a Template, Live Webinar Mode offers you the ability to create custom Registration pages, add event security, access post-event reporting tools, all while Attendees and Guests participate in the familiar Teams environment.

During your event, you and your Attendees enjoy the expected Teams experience:

  • Communicate via chat, two-way audio, or whiteboard.
  • Attendees can see who is in the Event, as well as their fellow attendees’ messages.

Suite and Enterprise subscribers have two additional options when Live Webinar is the selected mode: EventBuilder Streaming and/or EventBuilder Recording. Use the toggle buttons to activate these settings:

EventBuilder Streaming

Your presenters will be in the familiar Teams environment, while your attendees view the presentation via our no-download, browser-based streaming console. Attendees can engage via chat, polls, and surveys while preserving their anonymity.

Note: EventBuilder Streaming is not available for Teams Live Event/Town Hall.

EventBuilder Recording

You may choose to have our system record your Teams event. Shortly after your event, the recording is automatically posted to the Event Registration page for on-demand viewing, helping extend the life of your content by offering new or existing attendees the opportunity to view your event on their schedule.

Simulated Live Mode

Suite and Enterprise-level subscribers only

Simulated Live Events blend elements of On-Demand and EventBuilder streaming, playing pre-recorded content to your Attendees via the no-download browser-based viewing console used for Streaming Mode. With Simulated Live Events, Moderators interact with Attendees via the EventBuilder Moderator console posting announcements, polls, or answering questions while the pre-recorded content is being streamed.

In-Person Event

Available for all subscription levels

Perfect for seminars and training - add online registration with in-person check-in capabilities.

In-Person Event mode adjusts your Event build to include necessary information for an on-premises Event. When selecting 'In-Person Event,' you will be prompted to enter your Event's date(s), Venue Name, Venue Location. All Registration pages, Communication emails, and calendar information will reflect that your event is in-person.

In-Person/Online Hybrid

Suite and Enterprise-level subscribers only

Hybrid event mode combines the power of live streaming functionality with in-person event check-in. You can control both parts of your hybrid event via one registration page.

On-Demand Mode

Suite and Enterprise-level subscribers only

Extend the life of your content by making recorded events available to attendees anytime.

With On-Demand Mode, Attendees navigate to your Registration page, sign up, and access/view previously recorded content, allowing Organizers to collect attendee demographic information, views, and facilitate EventBuilder’s registration reporting capabilities.

Custom

Suite and Enterprise-level subscribers only

Custom offers full flexibility when it comes to building events, with every option available in one place. We recommend only experienced users take advantage of this mode as related fields will not automatically update in line with your selections.

For example: If Simulated Live event is selected, you would need to be aware that it requires streaming to be enabled.
