Licensing Knowledge, Delivered.
Microsoft Taps EventBuilder for Channel Training at scale
Microsoft is one of the world's most recognized and respected technology companies, known for its commitment to innovation, security, and ability to empower people and organizations to achieve more. Within its global partner ecosystem, Microsoft invests heavily in education and enablement, ensuring that its channel partners have the knowledge, tools, and confidence needed to deliver value across complex licensing scenarios.
To support these efforts, the Commercial Licensing team develops and delivers training programs that translate Microsoft's robust licensing models into accessible, actionable learning for partners worldwide. Their goal is to equip every partner with the clarity and expertise they need to serve customers effectively, no matter the scale, region, or solution.
Microsoft's Commercial Licensing group was tasked with delivering a complex, content-heavy training initiative to partners across the globe. But executing a high-volume virtual program at this scale, without overburdening internal teams, was no small feat. They needed more than just software; they needed strategic support to pull it all together.
Key challenges included:
Centralized Content and Registration Hub
With multiple sessions targeting a range of audiences, they needed a centralized place where partners could register, access live and on-demand content, and stay informed about upcoming sessions. Fragmented access points were creating confusion and increasing support requests.
Cloud Hosting for Event Recordings
On-demand access was essential. They required a secure, scalable solution to host and share event recordings long after the live sessions ended. They needed visibility into who was watching and which content was resonating with their audiences.
Large Scale In-Event Technical Support
Delivering smooth experiences across time zones meant having live support at every session. They couldn't afford to split attention between content delivery and tech issues, especially with hundreds of partners depending on these trainings to stay current.
Customized Reporting to Support ROI
Tracking attendance alone wasn't enough. The team needed detailed reporting by region, event type, and viewer behavior to help justify future investments and fine-tune future programming.
Customized Event Communications
Standard confirmation emails weren't cutting it. Microsoft wanted every touchpoint (from registration confirmation to post-event follow-up) to reflect their brand, voice, and high standard of professionalism.
With limited bandwidth to manage these demands internally, Microsoft turned to us to provide full-spectrum event support.
Here's how we brought their vision to life:
- Dedicated Program Oversight:
A seasoned EventBuilder Program Manager oversaw planning, implementation, and execution, coordinating all moving pieces and serving as the go-to for scheduling, updates, and logistics. - Custom Software Configuration:
We implemented a tailored version of the our platform to work seamlessly with Microsoft Teams. This allowed for advanced registration workflows, customizable communications, and detailed reporting without the headache. - Branded Event Listing and Registration Hub:
Our team created a centralized content hub—branded to Microsoft specifications—where partners could easily browse, register for, and access events. This listing page simplified user navigation and reduced the need for manual registrations and reminders. - Downloadable Training Materials and Resources:
Supporting content was made available alongside each session, giving attendees access to slide decks, reference materials, and supplementary documentation in one easy-to-navigate location. No more digging through inboxes;, downloadable content lived right where attendees needed it, when they needed it. - Professional Event Staffing and Support:
Every session had an experienced Event Producer behind the scenes, handling technical rehearsals, presenter onboarding, real-time troubleshooting, and post-event wrap-up. This freed Microsoft’s trainers from behind-the-scenes stress so they could show up and teach effectively. - Cloud-Hosted Event Recordings:
All sessions were automatically recorded and securely hosted for on-demand viewing—helping Microsoft extend the reach and longevity of their training program while capturing key viewer metrics. - Responsive Communication and Attendee Support:
We served as the front line for attendee inquiries, fielding registration and tech support questions, and routing complex cases directly to the right Microsoft team members when needed. - Custom Engagement and Performance Reporting:
Post-event reports were tailored to Microsoft’s internal goals, providing insight into attendance, engagement trends, and content consumption across sessions and time zones.
The partnership between Microsoft's Commercial Licensing team and EventBuilder delivered far more than just smooth operations, it helped Microsoft turn a sprawling program into a finely tuned training engine.
