Closed Captioning for Simulated Live and On-Demand Events

Last updated: mo/day, 2020

Organizers can also order Closed Captioning for Simulated Live and On-Demand Events. Pricing to add captions is $300 for 1-hour. For events less than 30 minutes, the fee is $150.

Order Process

For Simulated Live and On-Demand Events, your recording file must be added to the Event at least 5 business days in advance of the scheduled time (Simulated Live) or when you would like your event available for viewing (On-Demand). The process for ordering Closed Captioning is the same for both types of events.

On the Schedule step of your Event build, upload your recording in the 'Recording' field:

Navigate to the Extras step and scroll down to the Closed Captioning section:

In-software instructions state the following (transcript):

Closed captioning services include captions on the recording, and a WebVTT file. EventBuilder captioning services are compliant with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act requirements.

By default, closed captions are displayed in English for an English-speaking presenter. Additional languages are available. If you would like assistance on event day, EventBuilder offers professional moderation services. Contact EventBuilder to learn more about additional languages and/or professional moderation services.

Please contact EventBuilder to request captioning on your Simulated-Live event. This service is ordered on a per event basis for $300 for a 1 hour event. This service must be ordered a minimum of 5 business days prior to the scheduled start time to avoid a rush fee. Once captioning work has begun, the order cannot be canceled.

WebVTT File Upload

Once captioning is complete, a WebVTT file will be created and attached to your Event no less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled live start time.

To verify the file has been uploaded, navigate to the Extras step on your Simulated Live or On-Demand Event, and scroll to the Closed Captioning section. The WebVTT file will appear in the field:
